Gerd Gigerenzer ist der zwölfte Preisträger des Communicator-Preises.
Unter den bisherigen Preisträgern waren unter anderen der Astrophysiker Harald Lesch, der Katholische Theologe Hubert Wolf, der Paläoanthropologe Friedemann Schrenk sowie die Berliner Sozialwissenschaftlerin Jutta Allmendinger.
Verliehen wird der Communicator-Preis durch den Präsidenten der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), Professor Matthias Kleiner, und den Präsidenten des Stifterverbandes, Dr. Arend Oetker, am 5. Juli 2011 im Rahmen der DFG-Jahrestagung in Bonn.

Amongst the previous prizewinners are the astrophysicist Harald Lesch, the Catholic theologian Hubert Wolf, the palaeoanthropologist Friedemann Schrenk and the Berlin sociologist Jutta Allmendinger.
The Communicator Award will be presented by the President of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation), Professor Matthias Kleiner, and the President of the Donors' Association, Dr. Arend Oetker, on 5 July 2011 as part of the DFG's annual conference in Bonn.
