Der Verhaltenskodex für verantwortungsvolle Fischerei
Die internationale Gemeinschaft schlug die Erarbeitung eines Verhaltenskodex als Grundlage für ein abgestimmtes und kohärentes Vorgehen zur nachhaltigen Nutzung aquatischer Ressourcen auf verschiedenen Foren vor:
1991 im Fischereiausschuss (COFI) der Ernährungs- und Landwirtschaftsorganisation der FAO, auf der internationalen Konferenz über verantwortungsvolle Fischerei 1992 in Cancún, Mexiko, und bei der Konferenz der Vereinten Nationen für Umwelt und Entwicklung (UNCED) 1992 in Rio de Janeiro.

In various forums, the international community proposed drafting a code of conduct as a basis for concerted and coherent action to ensure the sustainable use of aquatic resources:
